This 10 Day Safari to Discover Uganda and Rwanda private circuit with lodge accommodation is designed for those who want to discover Uganda and Rwanda. It includes wildlife, birds, mountain gorillas, and chimpanzees. Accommodation Type of stay in a Private Lodge Safari. Day 1: Entebbe

Arrival at Entebbe airport. Welcome to the airport with your guide and transfer to your hotel. Dinner and overnight at The Boma.

Day 2: Fort Portal

After breakfast, depart to Fort Portal via Mubende. You will travel through sugar cane, banana, tea, and coffee plantations, typical of the region. You will have a picnic lunch en route. In the afternoon, you will leave for a guided walk to the Wetlands sanctuary of Bigodi.

During this excursion, you will be able to observe several kinds of primates such as black and white colobus, red-tailed colobus, and red-headed colobus. The sanctuary is also famous for these many birds.

After breakfast, accompanied by researchers and rangers from the Kibale reserve, you will meet the chimpanzees when they wake up and you will observe them all day until bedtime (nesting).

The chimpanzee habituation program is a unique experience that will allow you to follow a group of chimpanzees in their daily activities. You will participate in an initiative of the Uganda Wildlife Authority dedicated to accustoming chimpanzees to human presence without interfering with their natural environment.

The Kibale Forest offers the best conditions for observing primates, especially chimpanzees, and some 335 species of birds and 140 species of butterflies have been recorded there.

Day 4: Kibale – Queen Elizabeth Park (Mweya)

After breakfast, you will take the road towards Mweya, the northern sector of Queen Elizabeth Park. The road will lead you through wonderful landscapes and give you the opportunity to discover the salt lake of Katwe. Lunch upon arrival at the park.

After lunch, start the boat exploration of the Kazinga Canal, a natural canal connecting Lake Edward to Lake George. During the navigation, you will be able to observe elephants, hippos, buffaloes, Nile crocodiles, and a very large number of water birds. You will leave for a safari in the park at the end of this excursion.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, departure for a morning safari north of Queen Elizabeth Park with a magnificent view of the Rwenzori mountains in the background.

You can observe there: lions, elephants, buffaloes, hippos, warthogs, and Ugandan kobs but also many species of birds because Queen Elizabeth National Park is a paradise for bird watchers. After lunch, you will take the trail to the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth Park, called Ishasha. Safari en route to your Camp.

After breakfast, departure for a whole day in the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth Park. The Ishasha sector is renowned for its climbing lions. Some connoisseurs count Ishasha among the most attractive sites in East Africa. Picnic lunch and relaxation by the river for hippo watching.

After lunch, you will visit the salt marshes of Lake Edward to observe elephants, large herds of buffaloes, and various species of water birds. It can happen that we can observe the very rare bill in the hoof.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi National Park

After breakfast, depart towards Bwindi. You will take the road that winds along the Kigezi mountains. These mountains will make you discover one of the most beautiful panoramas of your panoramic stay. Lunch upon arrival at the Lodge in Bwindi.

The Bwindi rainforest is a unique and varied ecosystem. UNESCO has classified it as a World Heritage Site. Bwindi Park currently has 4 sites where you can observe mountain gorillas, Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga, and Nkuringo. In the afternoon, you will explore the village.

Day 8: Bwindi National Park, first visit to the mountain gorillas

After breakfast, you will drive to the entrance to Bwindi National Park.

Meet the park rangers and depart for your first trekking tour to meet the gorillas. You will then enter the gorilla sanctuary. The moments spent with these last mountain lords will be the highlight of your trip and will forever remain the memory of a unique and fabulous experience.

A good physical condition is necessary because the trekking of the gorillas is somewhat unpredictable. For conservation reasons, the meeting with the gorillas will be limited to one hour. Prepare your cameras and camera!

After the trekking, departure towards the border with Rwanda. After the entry formalities in Rwanda, it will take you another hour to reach Ruhengeri—installation at the Lodge for dinner.

10 Day Safari to Discover Uganda and RwandaDay 9: Volcanoes National Park, a second visit to mountain gorillas

After a good breakfast, you will go to the entrance of the Volcanoes National Park or the park guides will give you all the information for your second trek in search of mountain gorillas. Back to the hotel for lunch. In the afternoon, if the schedules allow it. In the middle of the afternoon, you will resume the road to Kigali. You will make several stops en route to admire the magnificent landscapes of the land of a thousand hills.

Day 10: Kigali – return flight

After breakfast, visit the city of Kigali and the genocide memorial. Depending on your flight schedules, transfer to Kigali airport for your return flight.
