Car hire rates in Uganda for 2024–2026 typically range from $30 to $300 per day, depending on the vehicle type, rental duration, and whether you choose a self-drive or chauffeur-driven option. Rates usually exclude fuel but often include comprehensive insurance and unlimited mileage.

Our vehicles come complete with camping equipment and all the essentials necessary for comfort and practicality. We even use Tents with camp beds and mattresses to make your 4×4 camping a little more luxurious!

Standard Car Rental Rates (Per Day)

Saloon/Compact (e.g., Toyota Premio, Corolla): For a saloon or compact vehicle, such as a Toyota Premio or Corolla, we offer a capacity of 4-5 passengers. Our self-drive rates range from $30 to $50, while a dry lease with a driver costs between $45 and $70.

Small SUV (e.g., Toyota RAV4): Our small SUVs, like the Toyota RAV4, accommodate 2 to 4 passengers. You can choose a self-drive option for $40 to $60 or hire a driver (dry lease) for $65 to $90.

Mid-Range 4×4 (e.g., Land Cruiser TX/TZ): Our mid-range 4x4s, such as the Land Cruiser TX/TZ, comfortably seat up to five passengers. We offer these vehicles for $60 to $80 per day for self-drive, or between $80 and $100 per day with a driver (dry lease).

Large 4×4 (e.g., Land Cruiser GX/V8/VX): For larger groups of five to seven passengers, we offer large 4x4s like the Land Cruiser GX, V8, or VX. These vehicles are available for self-drive at $80 to $120 per day, or you can hire a driver (dry lease) for $90 to $150 per day.

Safari Van (9-seater with Pop-up Roof): Our 9-seater safari vans, featuring a pop-up roof, comfortably accommodate 7 to 9 passengers. You can choose a self-drive option for $70 to $100 or hire a driver for $100 to $150

Extended 7 Seat Safari Land Cruiser: For larger groups, we offer Extended Safari Land Cruisers with a 7-passenger capacity. These vehicles require a professional driver and are available for $170 to $250 per day.

Extended 5 Seat Safari Land Cruiser: For larger groups, we offer Extended Safari Land Cruisers with a 5-passenger capacity. These vehicles require a professional driver and are available for $170 to $200 per day.

Coaster Bus: For larger groups, we offer Coaster buses with a capacity of 28 passengers. These vehicles require a professional driver and are available for $130 to $280 per day.

Specialised Rental Options

Camping Gear: Full sets, including tents, sleeping bags, and kitchenware, are available for approximately $10 per day.
Rooftop Tents: Vehicles equipped with single or double rooftop tents generally cost $75-$140 per day.
Luxury Vehicles: High-end options like Mercedes-Benz, Range Rovers, or Limousines range from $150 to $400+ per day.

Key Rental Terms

Driver Fees: Professional driver-guides typically cost between $40 and $60 per day, which usually covers their Accommodation and meals.
Long-Term Discounts: Many agencies offer reduced daily rates for rentals lasting 7 or 10 days or more.
Delivery & Pickup: Most companies offer free delivery to Entebbe International Airport or to hotels in Kampala.
Cross-Border Travel: Driving to Kenya, Rwanda, or Tanzania is possible with prior notice to arrange the necessary insurance and documentation.
Seasonal Fluctuations: High-season rates (June–August and December–January) often increase by 10–20%.
Fuel Policy: Most rentals follow a “quarter-to-quarter” or “full-to-full” policy, where you are responsible for returning the car with the same amount of fuel it had at pickup.
