14 Day Primate and Gorilla Safari

This 14 Day Primate and Gorilla Safari tour will include, Sipi falls, Jinja, Murchison Falls, Kibale, Semliki, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and Lake Bunyonyi, Lake Mburo, and Kampala City Tour. With this Tour, you will explore most of Uganda’s primates.

Day 1- Arrival-Transfer to Hotel

Our safari guide will meet and greet you at Entebbe Airport; depending on your arrival time you can visit the forex bureau to change the required local currency. Have a relaxed evening at your Hotel.

Day 2- Jinja-Sipi falls: Jinja Tour and the Source of the Nile,

Start for Jinja, via Mukono, Detour to Sezziwa falls, thought in local folklore to have been produced by an ancient woman, continue to Mabira forest. Proceed to Jinja past the Owen falls dam, Uganda’s largest dam. Visit the source of the mighty River Nile, and have a lunch break at King Fisher Lodge. Your trip ends with a tour to Itanda Falls on the other end of the Nile.

Dinner and overnight stay at Salem Guest House(Budget) or Mbale Resort (Mid-Range) or Mount Elgon Hotel(Luxury)

Day 3- Sipi falls-Kampala

This morning you will have a unique adventure-hiking Sipi Falls and Wanale trails loop, which has vertical cliffs of the ridge and cascading waterfalls that make a very scenic drive. This is the perfect place to relax and explore the foothills of Mount Elgon. Later return to Kampala for dinner and overnight.

Day 4- Kampala – Ziwa Rhino – Masindi

After breakfast, drive to the northern part of Uganda for MFNP which is the largest park in Uganda with 3.840sq km. and bisected by the mighty river Nile. It protects a chunk of untamed wildlife. Have a short stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and later proceed to Masindi. Dinner and overnight stay at BijaHotel(Budget) or Masindi Hotel(Mid-range)

Day 5- Masindi – Pabidi – Chimp Tracking – MFNP – Top of the falls

After breakfast, Drive to Kaniyo-Pabidi in Budongo Forest. Go for a guided nature walk to track chimpanzees. Budongo is also known for its many plant and bird species. Continue to MFNP with a visit to the top of the falls. Dinner and overnight stay at Red-Chili (Budget), Sambiya River Lodge (Mid-Range), or Paraa Safari Lodge(Luxury)

After an early morning cup of coffee go for a morning game drive on a northern bank where your tour guide will help you spot Elephants, Lions, Cape, Buffalos, and Giraffes leopards. Return to the lodge and after lunch proceed for an exciting boat launch

Day 7- Murchison falls – Fortportal

After a cup of coffee, drive south to Fort Portal, past big tea plantations while viewing several local markets, hope for a short stopover at Tooro Royal Cottages for lunch, and later proceed to Kibale for dinner and overnight at Chimpanzee Guest House (Budget), Kibale Forest Camp (Mid-Range) or Katala Lodge (Luxury)

Day 8- Semilik and the Hot- springs

After an early morning cup of coffee, continue to Semilik National park to see the Hot springs. Have a lunch break and later return to Raja Hotel for your dinner an at Chimpanzee Guest House (Budget), Kibale Forest Camp (Mid-Range), or Katala Lodge (Luxury)

Day 9- Bigodi Swamp in Kabale forest – Boat launch on Kazinga Channel.

After a cup of coffee visit Bigodi swamp perfect for bird watching and later proceed to queen Elizabeth national park while viewing a lot of games as you enter the park, relax for a lunch break, and later In the afternoon proceed for a unique boat launch cruise at Kazinga channel. Return for dinner and overnight stay at Mweya Hostel (Budget), Bush Lodge (Mid-Range), or Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury)

Day 10 – Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi

After an early cup of coffee, proceed for a morning game drive in search of the Big five: Elephants, lions, Buffaloes, and many more and later dive to Bwindi impenetrable park located in southwest Uganda, Check-in at the hotel for your lunch, a relaxed evening in preparation for Gorilla experience.

Dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Community Camp (Budget), Lake Kitandara Safari Camp (Mid-Range), or Volcanoes (Luxury)

After an early cup of coffee and with packed lunch, continue to the park headquarters for briefing and later set off for the exciting gorilla tracking activity in the forest sanctuary. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 12- Bwindi-Lake Bunyonyi.

After breakfast, drive to Kabale heading to Lake Bunyonyi. Afternoon, relax at the sandy beaches of Lake Bunyonyi, explore the lake, and visit various islands and the local communities. Dinner and Overnight at Bunyonyi Overland Resort (Budget) or Acadia Cottages (Mid-Range)

Day 13-Lake Bunyonyi-Lake Mburo.

Start for Mbarara, enjoying natural and other interesting attractions and with a lunch stop en-route; another stopover at the equator for some experiment and photos, an extension to Lake Mburo, catch the evening boat cruise on the lake, and later check-in at dinner and overnight at Rwonyo Camp (Budget), Lake Mburo Safari Camp (Mid-Range) or Mantana Tented Camp (Luxury)

Day 14- Lake Mburo – KampalaCity Tour – Entebbe

Return to Kampala at leisure after the game drive, with a lunch stop in the heart of Kampala.
Shopping is possible depending on your departure time.
