Special Birding Safari in Entebbe and Mabamba Swamp for about 3 days
This Special Birding Safari in Entebbe and Mabamba Swamp combines the city of Entebbe with the Mabamba Swamp for an incredible wildlife experience. First, you will visit the Botanical Gardens to discover a variety of local species. Next, you will head to the Mabamba Swamp to search for the iconic Shoebill and other rare birds.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe
After you arrive at Entebbe International Airport, our birding guide will meet you and transport you to your Hotel. Once there, you will check in and receive a detailed briefing on your upcoming safari itinerary.
Day 2: Birding in and around Entebbe
You’ll go birding on the Entebbe beaches of Lake Victoria, the Entebbe Botanical Gardens, Nabinoya, and the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre.
Day 3: Mabamba Swamp
You’ll head to the Mabamba Swamp, situated about 15 km west of Entebbe. The Swamp is an ideal place for bird watching, rich in bird species, including the White-winged Warbler, papyrus Gonolek, yellow-backed Weaver, Blue-headed Coucal, and other swamp birds.
You’ll go in a canoe to view the birds, and hopefully you’ll even spot the rare Shoebill. Other special birds to look out for include Swamp Flycatcher, African Water Rail, Lesser Jacana, African Jacana, Black Crake, and Squacco Heron.
